Young, international welding talents will present their ability at the world's leading fair, "SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025". Once again, the best of the best from all over the world will encounter each other on September 17‑19, 2025.
Youngsters between 16 and 23 years of age will compete not only together in a welding booth contest arena but also against each other in various welding disciplines. A large number of teams from many countries will certainly not miss out on this challenge. Four welders will travel from each country. They will be accompanied by a coach and a member of the jury. The participants will be guaranteed to experience unforgettable moments. We are already looking forward to seeing you all!
This DVS competition will be the cross-border highlight for young welders. No other competition will unite skill, ability and team spirit like this one. Cultural differences and language barriers will play no role whatsoever in this case.
"If the chemistry is right, the language does not matter. We have been accompanying the competition for many years. Every time, it is very exciting yet again when the young welders from all over the world make the sparks fly. For me, it is a highlight."
The young welders will have to cope with two competitions. First of all, they will have to prove themselves in the individual competition. Here, strong nerves and skill will be in demand.
The team competition will constitute a totally different challenge. Here, it will be more a matter of community, manual dexterity and agreements.
Every participant will take part in two qualifiers!
1. The individual competition - Show what you can do!
Per nation, four participants will feature in the competition. Every participant will select his/her favourite welding process and show what he/she can do. The best one in each process will win.
2. The team competition - the we counts Here!
Every team will consist of four participants from one nation. The task will involve the welding of a pressure vessel. One after the other, the participants will apply one of the four welding processes in each case.
The "International Welding Competition" first took place in 2009. Since then, the best young welders have encountered each other three times.
Six years had passed since the previous competition and everybody had been waiting for this moment for a long time. The winner of the "International Welding Competition" in 2023 was the team from Switzerland. Congratulations!
