DVS is the partner and innovation driver in all questions of joining, cutting and coating of metallic and non-metallic materials as well as material composites.
Around 19,000 members form a strong structure that is sustainable and capable of meeting the challenges of the future. Welding practitioners and welding technologists, engineers and craftsmen, newcomers and professionals, entrepreneurs and employees, researchers and users – they all come together here to move joining technology forward.
We invest our knowledge and skills in training, testing and certification, in technology, in standards, in research and in knowledge transfer – for the benefit of Germany, of Europe and of the world.
The world is becoming safer through joining technology. We contribute to this by ensuring and reviewing the relevant standards for joining, cutting and coating and adapting them to the state of the art. In this way, we guarantee a high degree of planning reliability and quality.
In training and further education, we provide courses in all areas of joining, cutting and coating technology. We develop learning concepts for tomorrow that are already being used today.
In our projects of the association “DVS Forschung” (DVS Research), we bring together entrepreneurs, researchers and supporters in order to give the industry a technical or technological competitive edge and thus a profitable advantage. For the society, for the industry and for the company that helped create the solutions.
In exchange with experts from companies, SMEs and the skilled trades, we stand up for the interests of our members and for those of the industry. Together with other societies or associations and interest groups.
Technology and the ideas behind them inspire us. Just like the people who invent and develop it and pass it on to future generations. That is why we take our responsibility very seriously – for the here and now as well as for tomorrow.
By providing orientation and setting new goals, we improve the industry. This is how we develop sustainable future projects for joining, cutting and coating technology.
Transferring knowledge and making it usable in practice is an important motivator in this. In doing so, we pick up on new trends and set significant accents. This is how we safeguard the future of joining technology.
